Does anyone know of a good recorder to record gameplays and things that is free? That's not FRAPS or Bandicam?

Depending on your video card, you can go with either Shadowplay or AMD GVR. OBS isn't bad, but it encodes with the CPU and not the GPU.

Dr. Basically nailed it, I use OBS all the time. It's a bit tricky at first, but you get the hang of it pretty quick.

One thing you can try doing is looking at your favorite youtubers and gaming channels and see what they're using. I see OBS quite a lot.
