Tech Help Source in-game mic

I am having issues with my mic in game with DoD:S. It works fine with TS3 and other stuff but whenever im in Dods all it picks up is in game footsteps and shots along with people talking in ts background but not me. Any help will be much appreciated

Make sure your microphone is set to your default device through windows, steam and source game only accepts your default device as your microphone.

I am using a turtle beach headset which is connected to the laptop the aux part, I cant seem to make it my default
