Suddenly, high school student Subaru Natsuki has been summoned to another world on the way back from the convenience store. With the biggest crisis of his life being summoned to another world, and with no sign of the one who summoned him, things become even worse when he is attacked. But when he is saved by a mysterious, silver-haired girl with a fairy cat, Subaru cooperates with her to return the favor. When they finally manage to get a clue, Subaru and the girl are attacked and killed by someone. Subaru then awakens in the place he was summoned and notices he gained the ability "Returns by Death" and has become a helpless boy that only has the ability to rewind time by dying. Beyond the despair, can he save the girl from the fate of death?

Of all the anime airing this season, this is definitely one of the most promising. Really excited to see how this plays out. Granted, there's been a lot of this "world transfer" as of a recent, but I am enjoying the current premise of the show and how the world is built overall. Should be a nice exciting adventure, and I always enjoy me some good fantasy!

So much potential. I love it. Even though it's not "original" as this general setting has been pretty dominant as of recent, I feel this one has been one of the best. I hate having to wait a week for this one. At the same time, I can't just let an episode sit there!

So, now that we've finished this short arc, let's call it the Insignia Arc, what happens if he dies now? Will he go back to the man selling the apples (appa)? Or will he start from a new "save" point? Interesting to see how they do that. For the sake of not repeating too much, hopefully he reached some sort of updated point of return.

I figure Subaru or someone will find a way to create a check point so he does not have to go back to the appa stand over and over... Or he never dies again and at the end of his adventure, he finds a way back home. Decades past and now he is an old man on deaths door. Family around him he closes his eyes to only to open them again in front of the appa stand to do it all over again...

I really hope it's the first one tho, I do like the idea of re setting time

Episode 4

At first I thought this episode was a really nice "break" from all the mayhem of the last couple. But wow, that end. So his wounds are gone, and I guess waking up here is his new "save point". So... did he die in his sleep I suppose? Die... or murdered? They were talking about how they think he may be a spy and that they should interfere. Really interesting.

Another thing to add to episode 4, there is no actual confirmation that his "return by death" is actually triggered by his death. That is simply a name he gave it. I feel the possibility is still there that he missed some important checkpoint/event that prevented him from moving past this week, thus having to repeat it until he meets the appropriate criteria.
