This is for everyone looking to make some improvements in their aim. None of the information is new nor should it come as a surprise to veteran FPS players. There is no video because the web is saturated with videos on this topic already and I just want to highlight important points. This is the quick and dirty guide on how to "Git Gud" at aiming on PC.
Tip #1: Peripherals. Get rid of the $5 mouse you may or may not be using and buy a gaming mouse. I suggest you start here http://www.rocketjumpninja.com/mouse-reviews/ The reviews on mice take into account sensor, weight, shape, and the size of the users hand. This is honestly the best mouse reviewer I've come across.
NOTE: To compliment your new mouse you'll need to get a mouse pad. Razer, SteelSeries, Logitech, and most of the other big brand names make good ones. Make sure it's large in case you have a low sensitivity. This is one of those instants where bigger is better.
Tip #2: Now with your new non-$5 mouse find the perfect sensitivity for you. I would go to an empty server or test range and work on snapping to locations near and far. Constantly over aiming means you need to lower your sensitivity and the opposite if you're under aiming. I would get to the lowest sensitivity to which you can still turn 180?.
NOTE: DPI/CPI does not really matter. However, I wouldn't play lower than 400 dpi or higher than 3200 dpi. This is just personal preference.
Tip #3: Warm-up before you jump into a game. You would be surprised how much this can help if you just take the time to do it. 5-10 minutes should be enough, but personally I spend about 20-30.
I will spend 10-15 minutes in the test range and 10-15 here http://www.aimbooster.com/. This is a flash game similar to the Russian aim400kg site, but this just has a better interface. I would go to Training and check out the speed, double-shot, twitch, and autobalanced modes.
Tip #4: Practice, practice, practice, then go practice some more.
BONUS TIP: Find a player you think is good and watch them play. A lot can be learned from just watching a skilled player. For Battlefield specifically I would check these guys out: boogly_oglly, Brekk1e, and -Lg-ShadyNz.
If you think there is something that I missed then please feel free to add to these tips.
