Dark Zone help

I have recently picked back up the game after getting it and only playing to level 5. I am currently level 17 in PvE and level 16 in DZ. I was wondering how I could make the dark zone "easier" without having good gear and being a solo player. I have some people my level tear me apart in a matter of seconds with similar guns, probably different quality, but they still are much more powerful. It might be due to my firearms, stamina, and skillpower stats and my abilities that I'm using, any help would be appreciated!

My stats have improved but I'm still dying quick.

Level 23
Firearms at 424, Primary DPS 17,720 and secondary 14,737. I'm using an M60 and a G36
My toughness is 36,546 with 924 stamina
Skill power is 8790 with 293

I have been running with life support on support station and tactical scanner on pulse with tactical link. My talents are critical save and adrenaline.
 
My biggest suggestion would be to focus on level 30 and the mission content. At 30 you can get set items ect which opens alot more pvp fun. Unfortunately far as your question at that level i really cant help but at 30 i can prob give ya a few pointers.
 
I hit 30 and 229 gear score yesterday. I'll try to figure how to post screenshots (I dont know how to take them in uplay) to show what I have. I plan on going striker or nomad gear set with 4000 firearms and 5000 stamina for 1.5, not sure if that is good though.
 
I am still playing around with sets. Though i heard high things about those two together. I was debating going more offensive unfortunately io havent had much time to work on division past week or 2
 
I have balanced my DPS and armor to about 200k each. Seems to work pretty well in the DZ and in the harder missions.
 
From what i seen you can get 300k toughness and 300+ k dmg for a well rounded balanced ubild requires 4000 + firearms and 4500+ stamina. Im gonna have to do bit more research on it.
 
I stopped playing a long time ago otherwise I'd be glad to lend a hand. The ps4 community just took a giant dump the patch before underground got released. The gear-set I was running was predators mark. That bleed ability is just dirty.
 
The best thing to do now is just kill word boss's. On the top world tier I think it's 5. Don't bother with the dark-zone way too nerfed now it's about impossible to get anywhere. I have 8(geared too) max characters on the PC and Xbox. The best build that I would run would be alpha-bridge or sentry's.
