Good morning, good afternoon and good evening EdgeGamers.
I was thinking. What would make a good idea for our community to celebrate this holiday season. Tis the season for gaming, and what is gaming without celebrating with the ones who make it oh so fun! (or terrible :facewall
Basically the idea is to expand off of the existing events already occurring during the month of December. While most of the events consist of TF2 and MC. They're plenty of available days during the week where nothing is planned and we would incorporate other divisions and games, encouraging diversity among all of the different gaming communities within eGO.
Now here comes the dilemma, who would run these events, will members take the time to show up. People tend to go on vacation and spend time with family and friends this time of the year. But that's what this time of the year is about, and their is not much we can do about it. But, their are members who stay home, away from family, or don't partake in the Christmas tradition and would welcome an event or two.
The solution? Well that is up to the community, Each division can submit 1 to 2 events per week led by any member who is willing to take on the responsibility. This would be a excellent opportunity to allow junior members to take on a bigger role within their respective division, allowing them to stand out from the rest. Events can be run on public servers, which could also entice civilians (non eGO) to join and and play as well. Obviously, if a event server is needed members with the appropriate access would have to help. Delegation and the proper use of the chain of command within eGO would help make this event a success.
This is just an idea and not a reality as of yet, and maybe it is to late to kick off something of this scale so close to December. But please, leave any comments or concerns you may have.
