HELP! (server trouble)

Please anyone who can help me! !sad I have a very anoying problum. When ever i start my own server my friends can't seem to join it just says "server not responding". So please anyone hwo know just a little bit about this problum please please please help me and if you know how to fix it that would be great! !amazed !dodge

hey laughing man, i would def suggest that you do some research before you ask further cause i think u just simply set the server up quickly. but also you didnt say what you set the server up for in the 1st place. do a google search for setting up a server. also make sure your machine can handle the load as well as your isp can handle the bandwidth.

More than likely this is an issue with your firewalls (third party and built-in to your OS) and networking settings. Also, your router and modem probably have firewalls or packet routing systems in place that make it even less likely that traffic will reach your computer correctly. Unless you already know how to resolve these issues or can find a good tutorial on your own, I wouldn't suggest running a server.

I try to be helpful on here when I can, but I can only respond to something specific or with some kind of information I can work off of. "Server is not responding." only indicates one thing: Their computers can't see yours. This is a good thing if you're trying to keep out those mean, evil hackers, but a bad thing if you want to run a server of any kind.

Yea, Laughing Man, we need more information.
I had this exact same problem. It was because my router wasn't forwarding ports correctly, causing my router to block out any incoming traffic having to do with the server.
I solved my problem by forwarding my ports.
