I posted an excellent link in the other forum from ars if you would like a good opinion on the matter. The article touches on all points between the AMD vs. Intel processor war.

I honestly wouldn't mind having a thread dedicated to the arguement of Intel vs. AMD, and I think it would be quite interesting at times; but making threads simply to bash each side is a little bit ridiculous.
Thatguy is my best friend IRL, but when he gets home from school he is getting a spanking for starting a thread like that. And, MrQ, I live a couple of hours away from you so you're next on the spanking list.

I guess this thread was taken more seriously than I intended. It was a parody on ThatGuy's thread. I am not throwing down the guantlet here.
My Personal Opinion:
I just think Intel has the upper hand at the moment. I have two family members who own and use AMD processors and they are a good cost effective processor, but not the bad boys they were long ago. Until AMD brings anything out to change my mind I will stick with my intel on Intel.

I'm the one that took it seriously, simply because I don't want to deal with "NO THIS ONE IS BETTER BECAUSE [insert bash]! HAHAHAHA LOL" in my favorite forum in eGO.

Back to the topic, though, I completely agree, MrQ. I'm actually favoring Intel right now because they're, for the most part, ahead. There's no denying the research; Intel has faster clocked processors, more power efficient processors, and processors with better architecture. Not only that, but in general Intel processors have a much larger cache which helps out A LOT when it comes to choke points in games (explosions, etc.). AMD has been sinking ever since the X2 vs. C2D fight, and they're still sinking. To the average consumer, there's probably no difference in sight between Intel and AMD; but to the overclocker/enthusiast, Intel is the way to go right now in my opinion.
Anyways, someone should make a proper thread for this stuff so I can copy/paste this paragraph.

To stop any AMD guys from posting something that they will regret later, let's sum this up in a mature way. Yes, Intel right now has 'the lead.' No biggie. AMD had it two years ago and will likely have it two years from now, then in two more years Intel again and so on...That's a GOOD thing for us. With no one being able to stay ahead of the other for long periods of time, it makes their market competitive. I'm 100% supportive of that. Competition breeds innovation.
I'm an AMD supporter right now but I completely understand why people, like my brother, choose Intel. My reasoning is I can get a Dual-Core 3.2Ghz processor for $155 on Newegg. I'm poor and in college so price and speed are my two major factors. Let's not blow this out of proportion any more than it already has. Please.
