I run my game through Steam.

I can get screen shots, but how do you get video?

Do you have an nvidia card? Shadowplay is awesome.

Pretty sure AMD has a similar feature too. If not I've used fraps in the past, but it's a huge CPU hog and will slow your frame rate.

I use Bandicam on my eight year old "modern" PC

Fraps" is another oldtime freebee

Hi guys it's me... first post.

Anyway the best recording software I have found is MSI Afterburner. It causes me 0 fps loss while recording 1080p video. It also has a feature (prerecord) that lets you record continuously to RAM, saving the past ~1 minute of gameplay. When you decide you want to start recording, hit a button and it adds the previous ~1 minute of gameplay to the file. Basically, it's the greatest program ever.

Fraps is a bit of a dinosaur at this point. The ATI/NVidia options seem to be the best options these days, or OBS.

Shadowplay is wonderful for recording specific events that you want to save, and I believe you can also just record normally with it. When I want to record gameplay normally, however, I use OBS.
