Not sure if you heard but ESL has unbanned all the IBP players involved in the match-fixing scandal in February 2015.

theres only 2 majors per year and a load of esl events and dh/faceit will most likely follow with an unban so what do u mean no point

Multiple pros have been asked about them being unbanned from ESL and have said that they wouldn't make a team with them because everyone plays professional play for the majors. That is like saying a football player can play in random leagues to make some money but not go play in the Super Bowl

multiple pros as in who? there are only 3 teams in NA that even have a chance at attending the major so theres plenty of teams out there that would consider giving up going to majors if it meant possibly better placings at tourneys since they cant even dream of stepping foot at a major anyway

lol and ur analogy to football doesnt even stand, to play in the superbowl teams have to play a regular season for months, where in csgo the qualifiers only last a few weeks. outside of that each event is its own standalone event with its own prize pot. esl/dh/faceit are not random leagues and they support big prize pools and everyone knows those are still prestigious events.

This issue wasn't cheating, it was a one-time problem where the players threw a match for money. I feel more inclined to give them a second chance, especially since this happened years ago. Its not like they will ever be able to do anything major (heh) anyways because valve will still say no. People in MLB caught "cheating" with steroids only get a mandatory 80-game suspension. Hell Pete Rose took several infractions of gambling and betting to get a life-time ban from baseball.
