Finals are stressful. Work is stressful. Life is stressful. This is a busy time of year for everyone,
as summer looms on the horizon. So why not take a break and bust out some notes to take the edge off?
Emmy, Minty, and the rest of TF2 Leadership is pleased to announce our Spring Karaoke Night!
On Saturday, May 5th at 8:00 PM CST / 9:00 PM EST, join the EdgeGamers Teamspeak for one heck
of a musical adventure! Bring your ukeleles, microphones and (if you're old enough) your favorite
adult beverage. We will be singing all night!
How it works:
The teamspeak room will be passworded to prevent spammers interrupting our members' beautiful voices.
The default password will be "birthdaysong". Upon arriving in this wonderful land of
musical accoutrement, message Emmy to be placed in the queue to sing. You will be notified
when you are on deck, and then told when it is your turn. From there, all you gotta do is sing
it like you mean it!
That being said, there are a couple of important rules to keep in mind.
1. You are not, under any circumstance, to queue your microphone while someone is singing.
We get it, that guy sounds amazing. But gaming is a hobby that attracts a lot of very socially awkward
and shy personalities. Getting in front of people and singing can be very daunting, and queueing your
mic in the middle of it is rude and unacceptable. Please wait until the end to shout your praises.
In the meantime, that's what the text chat features is for
2. Songs must be eGO appropriate. No, that doesn't mean you have to bleep out every
naughty word you come across. But like in our servers, we ask that you use common sense when
picking your magnum opus. Racism or derogatory language is not allowed, but swearing is
acceptable in moderation.
3. This is a passworded event, and there is a reason why. We are totally willing to have a
jam-packed teamspeak room full of fun-seeking vocalists. But as reasonable human beings, we all
know those people you should NOT invite to an event like this. If you want to bring in your
outside-of-eGO friends, great! Just make sure they are of the mind to respect other singers,
and give them a quick run-down on the rules so no one gets admined unnecessarily.
4. Once your song has concluded, let us know! Awkward silence is never fun! And we're
all trying to be as courteous as possible. Reciprocate the courtesy by informing us when your
masterpiece has come to a close.
5. If this is your first time singing at a TF2 Karaoke Night, make sure you let Emmy or Minty know.
First-timers will be given the uncomparable Song of the Seahorse Award for both their musical talent
as well as their bravery.
So take a break from your frantic studying, and sit down to knock out some serious notes on your
favorite tunes. You're all invited, and we'd love to see you there!
