Make starting off easier.

A common complaint from players is it that if you're unfamiliar with RP, it's impossible to get started on the server. I currently think we do a poor job with explaining where to get certain items and how to get comfortable as a new player. Here are some of my ideas.

1 - Make it so all new players start with a phone and gps. They are basic items people need to get started, and it's not explained anywhere how to get them.

2 - Create announcements that would explain how different things work. For example, /skin isn't explained anywhere, and people may want to know how to customize their character. example: ANNOUNCEMENT: Do /skin and use your arrow keys to cycle through different clothing options and settings!

3 - Provide 7k to each player when they join. Enough to buy some food and bread so they don't drop dead every few seconds.

4 - Create /guide, which would explain how the hud elements work, such as the food and bread and water idicators, where the buy licenses, icons on the map, etc.


I think these basic changes will make it easier for players to understand how the game works, and will allow us to bring in new players

Yeah, I’m used to playing GTA V RP and all, but the eGO servers are EXTREMELY hard to catch on to and understand. I’d make starting off easier, with a decent amount of money, and make a rule-book and guide for all players.
The servers I played on usually give you 5k to start off with and have less rules in terms of: Dealing drugs is a ban.
Overall I don’t like the eGO RP servers and think that a lot could be improved, and Arbiters suggestions are definitely valid and should be implemented...

I think the best option would be for us to create a homepage page that lays out the links to important things for FiveM that way it is a very simple link.

For example: www.edge-gamers.com/fivem

and to figure out how to use the cad: www.edge-gamers.com/fivemcad

etc, etc

In addition, we can look at boosting starting pay on start. Keep in mind, our primary goal when we reset the server back in January was to push for a server where it would be challenging for you to be rich and have 100 sports cars the next day. But I think 5k or so is pretty reasonable, if not 10k. 7k is an odd number and it kills my head just thinking about it.

I'm not sure I understand what you are referring to here? Are you saying that you heard dealing drugs is a ban on the EGO server??

Yeah. I heard that dealing if you have a job is bannable, dealing w less than 5 cops is a ban. With a 32 man server, if 5 ppl are cops, 3 are meds and lets say, 20 have normal jobs, there isnt much dealing, and its kind slow... its just what I heard, haven?t really played.

I'm not sure where you heard that from. Based on the way you explained it, that statement is definitely is not true. The drug plugin restricts dealing to only when a certain amount of cops but there is nothing where we'd ban someone for dealing each other drugs or something.

How about changing up the loading screen with an image of useful information? Show keys and commands (pgup, x, /ooc, /twt etc..) , how to call police/ems, and location icons.

Most importantly... server rules so everyones already warned about bannable offences like vdm/rdm.

I'll take another look at loading screens soon to see what we can do. Not everyone reads those screens anyways and that screen isn't going to get us away from our w/k/b procedures.

I can say as a brand new user, It was very hard to get setup and know how to make money. I had to ask 3 other people multiple different things like, "How do I clean dirty money".
