CS:S dust2 suggestions

I'm posting this to suggest a few ideas I have for the dust2 server on CS source..

When joining the game, at the main screen before team selection, I noticed we have only websites posted. I was thinking adding a whole page dedicated for the rules. I'm constantly reminding people of rules and most times people ask for a link or where to see the rules. I think it would be helpful for us admins as well as players if we added the rules on that screen. Maybe not only just rules. Add like a detailed description on how to join the eGO community etc...

Also, I'm not sure if it's just me but i rarely see any chat server pop ups. The ones that are pre set and pop up at random. Maybe we can add some more? Add rules? Server website, team speak, discord links? Etc...

Just an idea. Not sure if this has been suggested or not. I'm in there almost every day and with becoming an admin, I feel like it would help us admins focus more on the server rather than explaining to a player through chat the rules and such. Since becoming admin, I've noticed a lot of people messaging me personally, as well as in chat, about server rules and how to join. Let me know what you guys think!

Alrighty, I re-read what you are wanting and I don't see any reason why we shouldn't do this! I think it'd be awesome to have our rules right there for players to see and possibly have generic messages in chat to remind players of what should/shouldn't be done.


Could you give some suggestions on chat messages X xSHaDow [BLAZED] ? Maybe Drewerth SmeaR or another member of Tech could see if this is possible.

1.Ts please be out out of spawn by 1:30 unless the bomb is planted.
2. Please attempt the objective, plant or defuse the bomb.
3. Please do not rebuy more than one flashbang/smoke/nade.
4. Need an admin type @ in teamchat before your message
5. Interested in joining eGO? Ask any =e=, =eG=, =eGO=, or visit edge-gamers.com

With the eGO code of conduct, I'd add under griefing intentional teamflashing and smoking

On hold for global server configurations pending some larger projects in the works, though it has been planned to occur for some time now.

Some set remiders that would be nice are:

- T's out of spawn by 1:30 unless the bomb is planted.
- How to message admin
- respect all players
- add link to website

Whatever else you guys think would work great.


Some other suggestions I have thought of since this post:

- Maybe change the admin chat to a different color? Im sure alot of players play with the gameme stats still on, so all that green confuses me and I usually dont see the chat for admins if someone is trying to talk to me. I play90% of the time and hardly read chat until I die lol Im sure I'm not the only one who gets confused.

- For the main screen idea I had in original post, we should add a list of the admins for the server and link them to their steam profile so the players can add/message us if needed.

- Possibly more commands? For example, !rules bring up the rule page. (Could aslo add this to pre set chat) Only command I can think of at moment. Maybe you guys have some ideas?

I noticed players complaining about a player. I switched teams and became aware of a mic spammer so I muted the player to resolve the issue for the team and I switched back. Then this came up in chat..

This is a prime example of what Im talking about. Admin contact info. We need to get our players the contact information they need to contact an admin.

Could increase the member/admin population since so far from what I've seen there is at least 4-5 toxic players every time I hop in.

We get on when we can. Most people that play on the server are pubs that just want to play, but you're more than welcome to recruit players you think may be interested to join. If no admins are on, you can politely tell players their behavior is not appropriate for our servers and if it continues put in a ban request. I also recommend adding admins to your friends list so you can ask them to join if things are getting out of hand.
