Google's Project Stream makes 'Assassin's Creed' playable in Chrome

Project Stream promises to deliver the holy grail to video game fans around the globe -- the ability to play the latest AAA games on any laptop or PC via a stable, no-lag streaming service. Google is preparing to publicly test Project Stream with a "limited number of participants" on October 5th, letting them play Assassin's Creed Odyssey for free in the Chrome browser. That's the latest game in the Assassin's Creed series, and it's a massive open-world adventure packed with 4K-capable graphics.

In a demo video, Google shows Assassin's Creed Odyssey streaming at 1080p and 60fps.


A limited beta test goes live October 5th.

Google forks out well over 300 million dollars to Mozilla for the same deal. That's how Mozilla defaulted to Yahoo for a while too - Google didn't cough up enough in time.

The Apple deal is just much bigger because that would be the default for the billions of apple devices that have Safari - iPhones, iPads, iPods, Macs.

Part of the game to stay on top.

Ya, pretty much, we're just talking about it in intro to econ because why not. Even though it has 10x more things to do with business, but hey, econ!

Anyway, that seems like a lot to me because Apple really doesn't have a search engine or at least a popular one. What are they going to use?, bing?, and help microsoft? Apple thinks not!


Google has become a powerhouse, but with work to back it up. I mean, their whole system under google drive has become a power house for everything. For starters, they are threanting Microsoft word with docs (I use docs) and all of execl and things. They have made the Pixel Phone which became a quick main market phone, for almost everything, there is a google option. Just waiting for the day Google OS comes out and becomes popular.

Yeah I heard of it as well that google paid apple handsome amount to make google their default search engine
