Unusual Brightness in TF2

I'm playing TF2 and I see a very unusual brightness in-game.

Everything's brighter than normal, the text is very dark, most of the players are either too bright or blacked out almost completely and a whole bunch of other problems. Not to mention I had this with my options unaltered, it just happened on its own.

Is there any way I can fix this?

make sure you haven't accidentally made any changes to your monitor...it's possible something threw the settings there. if not, then head into your visual settings in TF2 and see what you can play around with. settings just randomly changing doesn't happen very often - usually that's an indication of a driver or hardware problem...

like trykael said check your monitor, i had a loose plug in the back of my monitor, and it fixed it. Also check to make sure your drivers are up to date

Does this only happen in TF2? Does it happen in other Steam games? Do you have brightness issues in Windows? More information will help clear this up.
