Counter-Strike: Source Bringing back Reputation points in De_Dust 2 server?

So I was playing Counter Strike Source De_Dust 2; the other day and noticed that when I used !rep or !up or !Down commands, nothing happened. After talking to some folks, they stated that the server recently decided to not use reps so that the server can be smoother. I have also heard that some people wanted the rep system to come back again.

Here is my take on it:

I can definitely see why leadership might have done away with the rep system (causing too many in game fights, having people feel like they need to have x amount of it to be "worthy," thinking that they are a bad player if they have any, etc.), however I do think that the rep system did serve its purpose. To me the rep system is not a popularity contest (if someone has a bunch, then that means they have a lot of friends), but instead a good indicator on the players stats and also how long the person has been playing. For example, if you been playing for several years, your bound to have over 100 reps under your name. Additionally I only use the reps if someone does something outstanding or is "brave" in the game, (i.e. leading a team, planting the bomb, being the first one in to a site constantly, etc.).
Thus, I would like to have the reputation system back due to the above reasons.

What are everyone else's thoughts?

I don’t think it was taken away - it might just be broken. We were supposed to reset it some time ago but no one discussed removing it. See if it’s only not working on that server?

I was there when the plugins were removed. Covert removed all plugins while working on the server. Not sure if he completed everything needing done but he did say the plugins would be added back one by one to ensure they weren't the cause of the issues.
