Bad Company 2 BFBC2 Heavy Metal network lag

Hello All,

I occasionally play BFBC2 Heavy Metal and lately I have started experiencing issues with lag. I am wondering the location of the server has been changed.

I used to have ping in the range of 90-110, but lately it's been 160-250 ping. Sometimes higher. I have also noticed same with some of the frequent US players - their pings are elevated in the last 3-5 days.

I have checked my network connection: reset router, reset my modem, reinstalled drivers for my WiFi card, and did a packet loss check with a Chicago,IL server. No issues there. All the websites that I usually visit are opened without issues. The only problem is when I am trying to play on BFBC2 Heavy Metal.

Did anyone else have these issues and how did you resolve them?

I did notice a lot of lag/stuttering yesterday as well. The morning session was much worse that the later one that you were in. Seems it changes minute by minute during gameplay making hard to decide whether to stay or leave.

Tried playing this afternoon and the latency in-game was above 160 ms. This is unplayable. I left shortly thereafter.

Happy to report that network lag has been reduced back to normal levels in the last couple of days.
