Comments in the meeting seem to have confused people about the AWP its acceptability in our CSS servers. I witnessed eGOs of all ranks bickering over whether it was allowed or not just a few minutes ago.

Right now the restrictions are not functioning and allow people to use it. My take on this is that until the restrictions work, it's allowed, even though the server title suggests it's not. I don't want to get into the over-admining of telling people which weapons they can and can't use. (At the same time, once people start breaking out the AWP, I'm off to TF2. The game loses all interest to me.)

The issue is that there are people telling pubs which weapons can be used.

So... which is it? If we're simply restricting the number (and not removing them entirely), that information needs to be made available as well, because the server title is "NO AWP".

Personally I think it should be allowed one per side because of the fact that it is a very close map (office) and not everyone who uses it is very good. It also points the view that it is a gun and it is a game, I mean in DoD you won't restrict the awp...

I don't know anything about DoD, but I doubt that the awp is a one-shot kill no matter where it hits you. It is in CSS. It's a misbalanced gun that people have disliked since CounterStrike 1.0 on Quake. So, servers have been blocking its use for years upon years.

If it's in, it's in, but like I said, I don't want this to turn into a "I want it", "I don't" thread. I just want an official answer where everyone can see it and know what the official policy is.

I don't mind/really notice when someone uses it in an offensively minded way, but awp campers just blow and can clear servers quickly.

Personally I think it's just the skill the person has with it. You could easily smoke, flash and kill the awp. Not very hard guys.

Yup, I don't like the Awp, i mean its fun when you create a server and go after bots.

I know this isn't a comments thread, but if you wanted a direct answer, a PM might have been a better method, threads are a good way to get peoples opinions on the matter.

IT WILL BE ONE PER SIDE. RIGHT NOW JUST USE IT!

I have other things to worry about right now besides a damn AWP that seems to make me want to close eGO CS:S.

If you don't like ONE PER SIDE after the server has made that change. Then go find a new server to play on.
