hey, i downloaded a skin and i have no idea where to put it, just need some info
(if its in the wrong forum please more this)

Simply extract everything to your C:/Program Files/Valve/SteamApps/*USERNAME*/counter strike source/cstrike folder. That should be right, correct me if I'm wrong.

Most of them use RAR, that I've found. You need WinRAR for that.

Cryptex - that only works if they only compressed the materials/models/etc. folders. If they tossed it into a "my gun models" folder, then just extracting it into cstrike won't work.

WinRAR will work better because it doesn't have a free trial period, it extracts RAR AND ZIP files, and personally I think it's more user friendly.

Materials go in the cstrike\materials\models\weapons\v_models and the cstrike\materials\models\weapons\w_models

Models go in the cstrike\models\weapons folder

scripts go in the cstrike\scripts\weapons folder

sounds goes in the cstrike\sound\weapons folder

Well, another method I use is I made a folder in my My Documents folder called "CSS Skins" Extracted everything there (label folders for each type first). After that simple copy all the stuff you need, and post it in your cstrike folder.

you can easily download winrar off the internet for free though I personally thought that after i deleted my half gig of skins i play much better
