thanks for all of the help guys. I will post my final build tomorow or Wednesday and then go ahead and talk to meh parents about buying it. It may just be buying indiviudal parts at a time if they wont help me pay for it :(. Or I have to wait till meh birthday late June to get it.

Here is my final product I plan to buy. If anyone has any other comments/suggestions please do post. I will be purchasing sometime between now and June 29 (birthday). A few other notes for comments:

The pc will be used for a little bit of photoshop, and video editing. Mostly for gaming and internet use. Another little bit for homework (word, excel, ppt). I will be using the stock cooling for everyhting along with an additional case fan. I dont overclock and dont plan to. I may possibly go into SLI or dual monitors but I doubt it and if so, it will be a long time. I plan on upgrading a few things after I get some more money. I plan on upgrading my OS to vista ultimate 64 (when vista is ready), my vid card to a 9800 gx2 when the price goes down and my g card is getting old. My case to a full tower if i go to sli or multi hard drives. So basically i plan on keeping this basic build for a while. I think a quad core will give me a long time ;)
 
One question, You are having a hard time paying for a computer that is under 1300, but Photoshop was easy for you to pay for ? CS3 is $999, I hope you aren't getting it illegaly.

On-Topic: I would honestly get 4 GB of RAM, or at least 3 GB.
 
if your getting 32 bit XP, 4gigs of RAM wont work. it will only recognize 3.25
 
yeah I used vista ultimate 64 for a few months, the only reason I didn't like it was a few of the prorams that I NEEDED to have wouldn't run on it 100% so I went back to XP. Other then that, DX10, 64-Bit games ran beautifully
 
Yea, 32bit only recognizes 4GB total memory. Subtract the vRAM from your GPU(512) and you'll be able to use 3.5GB. That'll be enough until you upgrade to vista though.

And vista is ready. I hated it before I actually used it 24/7, but now I wouldnt go back to XP. It does take a week or so to get used to, sure, but then its great.

i would suggest buying vista with service pack one cause just to install service pack one it takes about 3 to 4 hours its huge update

If you have no idea what they are for or if you don't need them just get Vista Home Premium 64 bit. $60 more for Bitlocker and some crap backup program is pretty stupid if you ask me considering you can get programs like TrueCrypt and Cobian Backup which are free.
