Something happened someday with someone spamming an external emote I believe en mass in #general-chatter([SUB]link is literally that channel specifically[/SUB]) in discord. As a result, someone somewhere removed access to external emoji to everyone in that channel only. We essentially were all punished for someone else's actions, but I digress.
As a suggestion, bring back external emojis to all "e's" and above. This will not PREVENT spam, but it will help cool it down. You could also bring in a temporary bot such as Dyno to combat emote spam (messages with more than x amount of emotes.). This would be able to function REALLY well, and then Dyno or X Bot here would simply be removed in favor of eGO's custom solution whenever tech feels like addressing this.
Why should this be added?
This requires little to no effort to fix! all someone has to do is go to discord and allow the permission for the right tags, which takes literally no time at all. In fact, it could be done before you even finish reading this post!
This can be done in whatever flavor you wish, If you guys want to add a bot to handle antispam of emotes, you can! and this too requires so little effort to get it right! You could probably do this before finishing reading this post too!
Best of all, NONE of this has to fall on the already loaded Tech Team if you don't want it to! Literally ANYONE could set this up if they are infact alive. This can be brought in as simple or complex as you'd like! you don't need to create a custom bot for this(but that'd be cool too), or if you think staff as a whole can moderate the discord rather well, you might not even need a bot at all!
Why does it matter?
Because people like to express themselves! External emotes allow us to express ourselves better than the server-specific, or default emotes. While there are some... Emotes that are not following the eGO rules, a simple warning can be issued and people can go about their day, with the message deleted.
We shouldn't punish the entire community using the discord because of one dude. I want to be able to send my Kappa's and my obscure GTA:SA meme emotes.
Overall; this is a nonsensical way of making the community happy with very little usage of resources or effort.
