Nasty Virus

Well I got a nasty trojan that makes my CPU run at 100% all the time even at idle. I gotta wipe my hard drive clean, I'm lucky I get to save my art stuff though.

Pro Tip: Scan torrent files for viruses before you open them, and no I wasn't downloading the p word =\
 
dude that sucks.... u should get an anti virus that scans any incoming files to ur comp, i have that and i havent had a virus for a really long time
 
Suggestions please, usually my comp isn't able to run anti virus + games but I think with 2.5 gb of ram it should be able to. I use AVG to scan files but I was just being lazy this time, I knew it was a virus because after I opened it up my mouse had the loading bar then nothing. Also if my guy starts making weird posts I might have been infected with a keygen.
 
avg is a good one so is avira, avg might be your problem though it takes up space we use it at work and takes forever to do anything get avira for a good free anti virus
 
Wow if I restart my computer and let Regrun do it's thing, the trojan doesn't load up >_< I wonder why. I found this anti-virus called regrun it gets rid of trojans rootkits and other things.
 
try spyware doctor, its a really good anti-virus, but its not free :(
 
here is what i use...AVG 8 pro, spybot search and destroy and adaware. i have never had a serious problem in the last 4 years or so using this. I am not fond of spyware doctor, one because its not free and 2 never bothered messing with it. And the only reason I use the avg internet security pro is because i got it free using trialpay.

Another suggestion is to start up in safe mode and run msconfig to see what virus is running on startup. You can tell cause the are blank lines or have weird names. Disable that and reboot in safe mode. and run your AVG. Then your spyware solutions.

You may need to repeat a few times and it may take a while, but most of the time its better to do that then to wipe your system and reinstall often unless you have a name brand that has a system restore.

If you do wipe, you should look into creating a restore CD/DVD
 
Well, I do have a name brand computer, it's a compaq and I do have the discs for it. But thank you hooked so much because now I don't have to re-download all 100GB of my steam games.

Please, have my babies. I just got rid of that trojan and various malware/adware components on my pc. Thank you so much.
 
i did a full scan in my comp with this scanning thing in my computer and it says theres nothing unwanted in my comp, but i scanned my computer with this other scanner that i found in the internet and it came up with all these different viruses that were in my comp. i dont know which one to believe. if u think the one that says my comp has some viruses is true then do u know any free anti-virus softwawre?
