Wireless connectons....

Ok. i have bought a Dell XPS m1530 gaming laptop and i cant get the internet connection to work. my bro was working on it for about 1.5 hours. but tonight im going to try some diffrint stuff cuz im going to my moms. and she has wireless on her laptop. but a friend told me that dell and som secruity issues and that why it never works the first time. but if anyone cold help me that wold be great, even some good links on that stuff, im going to try n call dell tonight after school, but ifk what i would have to do to go back n forth with it to my moms to my dads, pls help!!! ill take any advice cuz idk anything

i had my computer hooked up to wireless but i couldn't play any fps games with is and it would disconnect all the time so i moved the modem into my room and solved that problem. i got tired of solving annoying lil problems every other day.

well first of all, here is a suggestion. if at all possible try to go with a wired connection. if that is not possible, list what type of router you have and from there it will be easier to try to figure out your problem
