Nvidia CUDA issues

Hey guys, someone told me to download CUDA for my XFX 9600GT XXX edition and I went and checked it out, thought it was cool so I downloaded it. Before I installed it, it said that it wasn't compatible with windows.. But it was, is this what happens with all BETA drivers or just me?

As far as I know, the new 177.35 cuda drivers only work on the new 2x series of cards. I am running those drivers with a hacked ini file on my 8800GT SLI rig. You can find them on this thread: http://www.hardforum.com/showthread.php?t=1316812
