IGNORE :)

WHERE IS THE DELETE BUTTON?!?!?!

For context the deleted post was referencing communication around bugs and features.

It's been a very long boring day at work and I thought it's not worth it ;)
I was actually looking forward to seeing some replies, but I'll just give my two cents although literally no one but you will understand

imo we actually disclose a lot of stuff that goes on, but not to the layman. players in the server specialist team, a team that accepts pretty much any upstanding member, are told a lot in relation to what is going on, and are allowed to chip in to potential updates. I highly recommend joining if you want to be informed, or want to help test bugs. https://www.edgegamers.com/threads/321545/post-3014655

Yeah I did gather half way through the post that the server specialists will have more visibility into what's going on etc.

I still think that a bi weekly news letter for example would be a good start to improving communication and would provide a helpful insight for regular players to keep up to date with bugs/features and their journeys.

I'll take a look at joining the team as I'd be able to direct my work skills to helping the community.

I'm not opposed to this at all, but I don't think people would really care about that. If there turns out to be many people sharing your sentiment, I think it would actually be really cool. Otherwise, I would just recommend joining SS to stay up to date

Yeah understandable and thanks for the feedback.

To answer the original question, the logic already existed in the plugin. There was a bug with the hosties rebel flagging system that wouldn’t mark rebellers properly. Fixing that bug just so happened to show an underlying feature that had been broken for a while.

Otherwise yes, ”we” would’ve made sure Ts would get pardoned when it ends, and it would’ve been in the changelog.

Nicely put, that one particular feature was just an example of questions that arise around the progress of bugs, features etc. Which is where I think a little post every now and again about some of the stuff the Server Specialists/Development Team are working on/looking at/thinking about would go a long way in keeping us non specialists up to date.

Curious as to what other people's opinions on that would be.

Many of the suggestions / topics of development are suggested, categorized, triaged, and audited in the Suggestions forum. Some of what the development team works on is there.

While I'm sure it "would be nice" to know what is being worked on, I'm not sure if it's entirely necessary or worth the time it would take. After all, we do post the changelogs of what has been worked on whenever the updates come out.

I think this can be executed really well once eGO has server-specific managers for all major servers (bhop, surf, kz, ttt, jailbreak). The manager can then be tasked to write bi-weekly updates for their own servers, for a newsletter. It may not be much, but it can definitely be done. Whether or not current leadership thinks it's relevant is 🤷
