This would create a new way to make money and though obviously you would have to make it so you don't make too much from it, I'd find it interesting to see Job's added to the Survival Server. Now in most servers I've seen with this have it so you can only have 3 Job's at once. Some examples include Miners, Woodcutters, Monster Hunters, Diggers and Farmers. Now I'll do an example for the first 3 I've listed so far.

Mining : So depending on what you mine, you'll make a certain amount of money from that block
Example : For every Diorite (Bird Poop) you mine, you will receive $0.25 (or whatever you set it to).

Woodcutting : You'll receive a certain amount of money for whatever type of wood you Mine or a certain amount for whatever sapling you plant (gonna have to make it so someone cant just use 1 sapling and keep placing it down for money).

Monster Hunter : You'll receive a certain amount of money for whatever HOSTILE Mob you kill. Lets say you kill a Zombie and receive maybe $0.50. And maybe harder to kill mobs like Pillagers will make more.

Now, if you do these jobs a lot, you will level them up making it so you start to make more money from said jobs.

Lemme know your thought :)

Aren’t there shops that you can sell most of these item for $? Id think it would be a lot easier to just make more shops for the items you’ve listed.

Well, the only place that actually really buys stuff from players is the admin shop (as far as I've noticed), and for the moment, its not really that many items anyways.

I would say quests over jobs. Better balanced, allows individual progress, and doesn't compete with McMMO.

This sounds like a similar approach to how the whole economy system use to be set up for the older versions of the Minecraft server. The difference is these weren’t “jobs” but the adminshop allowed players to sell a variety of different blocks, mob drops, etc from what you’re labeling as jobs.

Prices were set standard across the board, so whether you mined cobblestone or woodcut logs to make money, it was pretty balanced across whatever you did. The only problem came whenever inflation hit. “God Items” allowed players to get more money within less time and prices in player shops skyrocketed because people had ( what seemed like) an infinite amount of money. I personally believe the biggest culprit was diamonds… without God items, the price was reasonable, but once you can break stone like butter, it became significantly easier to find diamonds. However, with recently updates in Minecraft, this seems like it could be managed now??

This approach did two things (in my opinion): created an economy focused mindset and also created a competitive McMMO mindset. Whether that is a good or a bad thing is personal preference.

tldr; The biggest problem with anything that deals with the economy is finding a balance to keep players engaged without killing the economy in the server, or creating a strictly competitive experience.

Honestly how it is right now seems fine to me, getting money just for being on the server and playing is great. Not having to grind specific items or get the feeling that you’re “not being optimal enough” for making as much money as possible feels nice.

I think people should focus on the survival aspect more than the economy aspect. Make good bases, get good gear, and don’t focus on one specific item / part of the gameplay.

I don't want an admin shop as it promotes grinding. Quests have a definite end and are an individual thing allowing them to be ignored by those who have no interest in completing them and at the same time giving clear marks of completion unlike an admin shop. Most would be accomplished simply by playing basic survival. "Mine 64 stone" "Gather 64 carrots" etc.

this could be pretty cool. especially if its balanced enough as to where you dont have to do the quests, but if you do, there are some cool things that can be obtained.
making quests can also be done through events where people will make new quests from the bottom up and win a price for making the best quest, adding top X quests that were designed to the server. this could be done every once in a while to constantly keep quests fresh.

limited time events for holidays etc. i actually **** w this so much lol

meaning it doesn tjust add an ecosystem on the server, it also adds one to ego as a community. could be pretty sick tbh

I am closing this as we have multiple quests, including the ABCs, and we will continue to add new quests along the way. :)
