And no, I don't mean gates during setup.

Played last night on Goldrush and was on the left back ledge on the last cp of the second stage - defending. The cart was on the tracks directly below, so I started just dousing it in flames while they're trying to rush it. An offensive engi had built on the opposite side of the wall where I was and by flaming the cart, it toasted his stuff through the wall as well.

'Course then I realized you could do the same from the ground floor through the second floor as well.

Flaming through barrels and around corners as been a long time accepted strategy to destroy sgs without getting decimated, but what about this?

Theres a similar problem with Turbine and shooting up through the balcony floor to flame the folks holing up in the sheltered portion... I consider it a map exploit and won't do it

But that's IMO I"m not sure of any (e) policy on that matter

This is a good question, and a great example of how the basic rule applies. Basically, in this case, you can't directly see the player if they're flaming you through a floor/wall/ceiling, and you can't immediately retaliate. Thus, it gives them an unfair advantage over you, and that's the definition of a map exploit. On Goldrush it's very apparent, but on Turbine, not so much, as you can just drop down and kill them. However, it does make it easy to destroy engie camps without having to get in sight of the SG. These are map exploits and are not legal on our servers.

At almost every corner or ledge on most of the tf2 maps, you can find a way to flame through the corner/ledge to hit your enemy.

ex. In dustbowl, 2nd stage, 2nd point at the gate, you can flame from the courtyard level to the gate by going through the wood ledge thats right there.
you can also destroy so many sentries on ledges through this method too (I've seen it way too many times when pyros are hugging the wall flaming the sentry above them that they shouldnt be able to reach.

Itd be pretty hard to enforce a rule like that, imo "you, stop flaming stuff!"

Corner hugging is always a pyro tactic for getting rid of SG camps. It's a feature of the class. Shooting directly through solid floors/walls/ceilings, however, is not a feature of any class.

Agreed, that would be considered an exploit and if it is being done intentionally it should be stopped. Same for the Turbine example.

And Kubain, please show the consideration of actually reading a post before you reply to it.
