cooloing for my gfx card

in same spot here need some cooling advice for same card. 
Depends on your case. some of the easier things to look for:
Is your card dusty? can you take a can of compressed air too it and see the mainboard again?
-Dust builds up and makes heat easier to accumulate which can cause some pretty severe artifacts. Ask and i'll show you some of the problems i had back in the day.
What kind of case do you have? does it have a side panel with a vent? better yet, can a fan be mounted onto your side panel to act as a heat exhaust? If no, this could be your problem. Cards are running much hotter now a days.
If you don't have a fan mount on your side panel do you an extra pci slot your not using right below your video card. If that's the case then you may be able to do something with a slot cooler. I don't think they are quite as effective, but i think they still work pretty well. You can mount it under your gpu and have it pull heat from the gpu. Albeit, heat rises, so i dunno how well that works in terms of physics.

no, the fan on my card works just fine. It just doesnt work good enough for my card to not over heat on hot days. So thier isnt much i can think of doing except upgrading my cooling system from the 6 various fans i have to a water cooling system.

Well heres my input on the problem you might not need to spend a dime to fix the problem.
Can you use a program to manually up the speed of the fan on your video card?? Some cards the fan doesnt speed up to 100%. Try using RivaTuner if you havent tried it already.
Also what fans do you have in your case?? Are the side ones intake or exhaust fans?? Can you replace them with better fans?
Also is your computer stored inside a cabinet in you desk? if it is can you move it out of there to allow for better airflow?

i got my rma approved for my evga card so hopefully the new one wont have too many problems.

i've been considering what badger mentioned about using a pci slot fan to cool the gfx card from underneath but I'm not sure how well that will work. a tech person from the evga forum suggested the same thing so i guess its worth a shot.
i was hoping someone else had the same card and knew of a fan that would fit on the card. ah well

I'd keep in mind what smoochee said though. The card may only be running at half of it's normal RPMs. I don't really know how fast that kills a card versus running at 90%-100% power but i don't think it'll be a huge change.
And you won't need to pump it to 100% really. I'd give it a go with half distance between it's current setting and 100% so if you're at 50% currently, try 75% and inch it up from there.

Yea i wasnt meaning 100% all the time i meant just when you plan on doing a lot of gaming. Another thing you could try is to just set it at about 65% and increase it by 5% as needed to find the sweet spot to keep it cool.
If you want to the fan will probably help out as well. This one looks like itd be the best for your situation. Its a little pricey in my opinion for a pci fan but it looks worth it.
