Ok, so I don't need help (yet), but I just needed to vent my frustration...
Somehow the XP partition on my HD went kablooey and wouldn't boot. Somehow, in the process of fixing it, it took out my Ubuntu boot sector as well, and when I tried to fix that, it all went bye-bye. This sucks, but I just decided to ditch the dual boot on this machine, since I use my ubuntu laptop for work/school, and this box is really just games, and I could use the HD space. So I go to reformat and reinstall. Except now the windows partitioner is only reading 130GB of my 200GB HD. After a few non-eGO sanctioned words, I booted into linux with a Gparted disk, and it doesn't see part of the HD as well. However, created a NTFS partition on the whole HD, deleted it, then recreated it, and it suddenly found it all. Fine. Probably a couple bad sectors on the HD, whatever, I'll live.
So now I am going through the agonizing process of reinstalling XP pro, installing all my device drivers, updating to SP3, and then I have to go reinstall all my steam games (not to bad, I have a backup drive with all of them except DoD on it).
I need a RAID setup for backup...
