Cant connect to eGO

Here is the scenario;
(this has happened on separate, and several, occasions)
I host my router off my computer, my room mate plays through it via LAN cable.

Tonight I joined him in Toyfort, everything was fine, I decided to switch to Dustbowl, yet he could not join me because it said to him "Connection failed after 4 retries".
I said "Ok, you join a game (on eGo servers) and I will follow you", this was on Dustbowl, after I had restarted steam, and had waited in line for a spot, and I received the same error.

So I am wondering, what is it that is not allowing me and my room mate to game together, is it my router? I dont think so, does it have something to do with IP settings? We do have separate IP addresses.
Why are we allowed for the first map of the night but not others?
Any sherlock Holmes type figuers out there dive into this mystery?

If im thinking this right your computer is acting as a router. Do you have router you could try to use? Also check your ip and your roommates ip maybe they are the same and wont let you connect at the same time. Another thing to try is restarting steam on both computers before you join and if that fails just disconnect the internet and reconnect it. Im not too keen on this end of computers but this is my best educated guess. Im sure we have some Computer guru in this place that can help you out better than i can.
