I agree. If you just tell people that now it is illegal to build sentries in the spawn in blackmesa, there will be more kickings. Telling someone not to do something they have always been allowed to do is a bad idea. here's why.

So, we have to kick them. What's the big deal? If a pub can't handle the fact that the ruling decision has changed, then that's their problem. Dragonhill will release the new version of the map whenever he can, but for now we should abide by and enforce the new decision to not allow building in spawn on Blackmesa.

I fully support banning idiots. I think that people who have built in this area for a long time who are innocent will probably freak out, however. I consider this almost a form of provocation. Think about it: if you yell at someone for doing something that they have always done, there is bound to be protest, and frankly, I think that even people who are great players, who always abide by the rules will be kicked (fairly or wrongly) for arguing.

My opinion is simply this: we should allow them to build in spawn until a new version of the map is built. The reason is just to avoid killing the blackmesa server. If we continue to kick people and ban people from that server for this reason, we run the risk of making those players think that eGO admins are way to up-tight, or are unreasonable. We are simply provoking people here.



This isn't about making changes to the map, this is about eGO's public image. If we start kicking people for this, we aren't going to look good doing it, that's basically for sure. I re-iterate : I would really like to see people still be able to use spawn until Dragonhill finishes the new version. Pubs can hardly argue with admins if they physically can't build in spawn anymore.
