Why do athletes get payed more then U.S. Troops?. . . . They get paid more because our society places value on things that entertain and we tend to take the important things for granted. Our country has serious priority issues. With failing health care, crime rates, and war going on you'd think we would be putting our money to work for something good but no we would rather pay people who are already making millions more money to entertain our ever shrinking brains... I think our soldiers should get more money. Heck when was the last time you seen a football player take a bullet for our freedom or a basketball player sleep in the sand ... knowing he was protecting his family thousands of miles away... the answer is Never! I wish things where different but I really dont see a change in site. Very sad situation our country is in these days. I told my friends at school that like football that Did you know NFL Football players get payed more then our troops and they didn't seem to care much witch was gay i thought you guys might care since we play war games on steam.

You are very right.

In the United Kingdom, Football players earn ?100,000+ a Week. One of my friends is in the British Army and earns ?1,000 Per Month. Thats just really horrible if you ask me, He's going to Iraq for are country and hes not even being paid correctly. How football players should earn ?100k+ a week is just bang out of order, they do nothing.

Very true in America. Football players and other sports players earn millions of millions of dollars even if the value of the dollar is declining. I think a country's military should be getting at least a little more of the cut.

true, but there is another reason, there are less top atletes then soldier, if they need to pay every soldier 100k a month, they need to pay like billions a month for every soldier, and there just like 15 top atletes in 1 football team and 100000 soldiers a country.

I am taxed over half my income every pay cheque in the Canadian Army. We just got a pay raise and wouldn't you know.. rent went up the same day!

i think this the same problem all over the world. even in germany soldiers are not payed well, but how will you change that? there are always people making millions with doing nothing to serve the country. look at the guys that founded google... world's no fair, but it's no so that we hadn't made it that way.
