to be perfectly honest ive owned altec lansings and logitechs from wal-mart/best buys that are lik 30-50 bucks that are decent BUT they do not last for a long time. i've invested myself in a sennheiser HD555 which costs about 100 and have lasted me over a year compared to the other headsets and it works great only no mic so i use a micstand which costs 5 bucks. but if its too pricey i recommend the pc155 from sennheiser or the black/white icemats

its not much cheap.. but the best headphones in the market today are bose.. they have the best sound clarity and everything else

Actually I had some expensive Bose (Dont know the model) that broke after like a week. I mean..REALLLLYY Expensive. Tenet Health was giving them away at a CEO meeting along with vintage wine and watches. (My dad works as a Head of Engineering/Biomed so he takes trips to Corporate HQ down in texas alot) Brand new out of the box.... first the left side stopped working.... came back with a bunch of static.... Mic was still working and sounded BEAUTIFUL.... then they completely stopped working a week later. They were a Bose Headset, headphones+mic. Anyone know the model?
I used to have a $20 logitech headset from walmart. They were cheap and eventually broke.
I recently bought a $33 plantonics headset and the sound quality is significantly better. I highly recommend them. They are much much better than the cheap headset I bought. The sound quality is better and they are more comfortable too.
All the very good players who play this game competitively use Icemat siberia headsets. It's very popular with competitive players but also more expensive. Around $60 I believe. From what I hear, they are the best headsets for this game just because they transmit directional sound very well. You always know where the footsteps are coming from.
