Ventrilo problems

heys guys i am having troubles with ventrilo.... i have all the right information for the server and all the right settings and such but when i go to connect to the server it says "Synchronizing" and stays there i left it for an hour and came back once and it was still there idk what to do... i have the latest version..and its on my exception list for firewall..i am kinda in a rush to get it fixed because well we got a big meeting tomorrow.

i am open to all suggestion thanks

What OS are you running on, and what version of Ventrilo did you download?

Can you connect to any other ventrilo server than EdgeGamers?

Have you always had this problem or did it start recently?

whats os? and i dnld 3.0.4 version it was the latest on the site

and it has always done this... and no i cant connect to other servers either

Are you using a software firewall like Zonealarm on your PC? Are you using a hardware based router/firewall like a Linksys or Netgear device?

OS = operating system. Are you using XP (what version) or Vista (what version)?

make ysure you remove the firewall from blocking vent


also make sure the ip is correct

make sure you have the right version for your os(Operating System)

i am running windows XP and my firewall has ventrilo on it exception list and when i turn off my firewall it still doesnt work! and i got the one for windows 2000 and newer

If you drop the firewall (you still haven't said which firewall you're using), and you still can't connect, that makes it sound like there's a problem with the Vent configuration.

What is the IP address or server name you're trying to connect to on Ventrilo? And what is the port number you're using?

it just the normal windows firewall and im using:

IP: 69.12.88.132

Port number:29272

those are the ones for our channel which is the one im trying to connect to

try this:

hostname/ip- voice.edgegamers.org


port- 29272

And make sure all boxes are check under the port

Are you using the Windows XP firewall or are you using another product?

Check the log of the firewall and tell us what it says when you try to connect to Ventrilo.
Or, drop the firewall and try connecting.
