A Noob's Guide to TF2

i think all of us at eGO should make Noob's Guides to all of the divisional games. especially tf2 (cuz i am the noob). anyone else think it would be cool?

The only problem is that once you put on the tag your L337. We cant even write a guide with noob in the name... its science...

actually I saw a thread where they posted evildaedalus's "how to play ... " vids, those are good general guides for the average noob
and I mean this is fps, not like someone can post build orders and how to tank push guides like we have in rts

best way it to note what gets you or someone else killed and not do that thing
(like trying to shovel a heavy is a generally bad but hilarious idea)

though guides to maps could be kind of useful, cause that's more about strategy and teamwork
meaning someone should write the "how to roll dustbowl" guide

Actually, I think writing up a player's guide for different maps would be a great idea. We could reference them around the web, link back to the eGO website, and it might draw more eyeballs here. They might join us on a server or later join up as a member too.

the best advice you really can get is to play the game and watch what others do and learn from that what to do and what not to do.

eventually you'll find a style and class that suits you

You can also look at the tips that are in the menu of TF2, some are useful, but the best way of getting better is know the map you are playing and know where the enemy usually is

A Noob's Guide to TF2: Engineer

Part One: How to get a pipe bomb to the face
1. Guard the intel room on Convoy as an Engineer.
2. Wait until an enemy Demoman crosses over onto your intel room's roof.
3. Demoman will then drop down to the convoy's windshield and taunt.
4. VERY IMPORTANT: Make sure you are standing on the table, and taunt back.
5. While you are immobile from taunting, Demoman should then run up to the opening on the roof and deploy pipe bombs as quickly as possible. Just four will do it.

If you are able to follow these steps and successfully achieve a pipe bomb to the face, sending you back to respawn and leaving your sentry vulnerable to the assaulting Demoman, then congratulations. You are as bright as I am.
