Screen goes Black, but still sound?

Well this just started happening and it used to happen on my laptop back in the day when I used to play WoW. This has never happened before on my pc but sometimes when im playing CSS my monitor screen will just go black, you can still tell its on and you can still hear you walkin and shootin. Anybody know anything?

What video card do you have, what kind of monitor and how old is it?

I had this problem with an ATI 4850. Disable VPU recover if you have an ATI card.

I do have a Radeon ATI vid card not sure what model, mr.cool if you could tell me how to disable the VPR recover =)
