Whenever i try to run a Steam game a message pops up telling me i dont have "enough available free disk space" and that i should free some up and try again.

thing is i have about 45 gigs of free space on my hard drive, it was working yesterday and i didnt install anything since then..

anyone know how to fix it? I really dont know what else to put so if there's something you need to know to help me let me know

Chkdisk /r /f in command - Agree to run at startup
Reboot
If checkdsk finds errors that it cant repair - replace your hard drive, don't defrag.
ELSE;
Run a Defrag.

Other things to check - PageFile size vs RAM size
Your system pagefile should be 1.5* the size of your physical RAM

If you have to replace the hard drive you can slave the original drive to your PC and restore your data pretty quickly.

Sounds like a good idea Bullet. Btw, the command /R implies /F so you can remove the last command.

This would also be a good time to run "Disk Cleanup" and "Defrag" for optimal system performance.

Did Bulletsponge's idea solve your problems?

Look around in your program files folder and see if theres left over crap you had from previous things you uninstalled. I found 20gbs of that in my program files.

i got rid of ~100GB by...
START>>ALL PROGRAMS>>ACCESSORIES>>SYSTEM TOOLS>> DISK CLEANUP
