PS3: I was really excited about it, and was hoping to get one. Then I found out it costs $600 which I don't have plus $60 per game. Turns out after everything, it doesn't offer anything but pretty graphics. I've periodically looked at games for it since it's release and the only ones I was even mildly interested in were Jak and Daxter (awsome games on the ps2) and Final Fantasy XIII. I didn't see any reason to pay 720 bucks for that. If the price goes down, I may get a PS3 when the games I listed come out.
Xbox360: Aside from the fact that Microsoft made it, like the ps3, it didn't really speak to me. It supposedly has great online (which you have to pay for for some unknown reason....I don't have to pay to play PC games online) and none of the games or technology seemed particularly exciting. Like ps3, it's just xbox with better graphics.....so what. And besides that, almost every game on xbox or 360 is on the PC (which beats all consoles). And all the 360 games are either shooters or....well....shooters.
Wii: This on the other hand is something new and cool. An amazingly cool new controls, and a history of some of the greates games of all time (IMO) such as Metroid, Mario and Zelda. None of the other consoles have exclusive titles nearly as good, and every other game that's on ps3 and x360 can also be played on wii, but with a much better control system. Nintendo has a bad history of having too many kiddie games, but it has 3 of the best and probably most successful game franchises in the world (metroid, zelda and mario as I mentioned before), sure, they may be "recycled" characters, but they are the best.
When it comes down to it, you have to pick a system based on it's exclusive titels.
Xbox/360 exclusives generally suck and most of them end up on PC anyway.
PS3 exclusives are generally better ie resistance, FF, Rachet&Clank Jak, Motorstorm etc.
Wii has the best exclusives of all as I've mentioned.
Any game that isn't an exclusive is gonna be on all 3.....I'd rather play them with the wii controller.
There's really no contest in my opinion. I still think PC's are the best for gaming of any kinds simply because the control interface is much better, you get huge modding communities and support. But for consoles (if you feel the need to have one), Nintendo is really the only way to go, and the number of sales for each system prove it.
