Vid Card help

theres the 20 pin power connecter and 4pin connector
sadly the windows screen gets garbled if it makes it through that mess and stops where i have to log in
 
Yep same thing as me. Im going to try and reinstall my vid drivers in safe mode tonight. Ill let you know if that helped.
 
Well with the drivers uninstalled the comp runs normal. When I reinstall the new drivers, the screen goes back to what it was doing and the comp restarts by itself after a few seconds. When I go to display properties and look at adapter, where it used to say 6800gt it says unavailable now :( I think the card is dead.

wow um same thing i sorta removed have of the driver so it cant do anything like play dods or anything at all but its not giving that garbled/scrambled stuff anymore....
so Sailor try falling back on old drivers thats what im going to do also use this

to clean out old traces of drivers USE IN SAFE MODE if you use in regular you will delete the drivers and u cant do anything more than desktop stuff
and if reinstalling old drivers doesnt help im just gonna reinstall the card

EDIT: W00T ITS FIXED THROUGH 2 HOURS OF WORK I GOT IT FIXED, IT WAS THE DRIVERS ALL ALONG SO AFTER REMOVING THEM, REMOVING TRACES OF THEM AND REINSTALLING MANY TIMES IN SAFE MODE AND REGULAR ITS FIXED!!!!!

just because new drivers dont work doesnt mean the card is dead. Do any of you have any idea how mnay nvidia and ati "new" drivers have made things worse? I was just about to suggest using 2 or 3 version old drivers to see if that helps. If it did, then there is probably a glitch in new drivers.
 
Its not just the drivers, it just went bad the other day. I havent updated drivers in a while, oh well I got another card comin in the mail anyways now. What makes me think the card is no good is the display properties adapter tab there is no info on the card anymore. Like its just not responding.
 
well now i get to update the WDM, nforce chipset and all other nvidia drivers .... so much fun... well it seems to running good no crashes but its laggy in game like itll say its getting 80fps then i move or shoot and it loops the sound and freezes the frame and then runs good and so on.... i think cause i need to install the missing chipset drivers
