Steam Group Chat

I feel that the steam group chat is a wasted resource that could be well used, from now on I will be in the TF2 eGO group chat. If anyone needs an admin for the TF2 servers or just wants to chat. It would be easier coordinating which servers to fill, getting eGOs to come and ban someone if its only eGs in the server. eGs could ask eGOs simple questions as well. It would be like an ingame irc for those of us who can't alt-tab. I just wanted to try and get more people in there. I just feel it is wasted.

i agree...my computer hates alt-tab (in fact when i tried it my computer froze and needed a full restart) and its convienent.

you could also use the chat to talk to e's who might have been around when a player was doing something against the rules while you were'nt there. no offence but thats WAY eseier then the console commands >.< and the limit on how much you can type in a single message is higher

The chat used to be used more in the past. I'm not sure why it has fallen to disuse more recently. In my opinion, it exists, why not put it to use? Great place for members of eGO to shoot the breeze.

I have used it a few times in the past. I was even able to help somebody file an application to join, and I believe I helped another person file a contest ban, as well.

Otherwise, you can just right use the "Join group chat room" option found in the dropdown arrow on your Steam friends list.

Great idea, i never really thought about doing that before. My comp will alt-tab, but it takes FOREVER. I will be in group chat as well from now on.
