Am I thinking about this too much?

Is the scout update a way of getting teams to cooperate more? Or is it just me?

Because if a scout came and stunned someone, they would be too easy too kill with a spy or sniper. So maybe working in groups might help?

Anyone else could of got the ability to stun but the weakest character (health wise) who is also the quickest got it. Maybe its a kind of stun-and-run.

Just writing this makes me feel crazy.

Why? I've thought of this.

I like it, because it makes the Scout, you know, SCOUT. He runs in front of the soldier and stuns a Heavy's medic, and the Soldier behind him gets the Heavy.

He runs in front of the sentry after knocking back a BONK, and because sentries are a dumb as a pile of rocks, it fixates on the dancing scout and not the Pyro who rounds the corner to burninate it to death.

He runs around a corner into a rush, empties both cartridges into the medic, bonks the demo with the Sandman, pops a BONK! and runs back through the hail of bullets to warn his team.

I think they've made the Scout more viable. Like letting the Spy recharge cloak on dispensers... it makes him more of a spy. Now he's not trapped to his itty bitty cloak guage; he can pick up ammo and sit on dispensers to get to the back of the field, and sometimes even sit on a dispenser and report of enemy activities with the enemies blithely unaware of the danger.

Valve has said that the unlocks not only are designed to be alternatives, but to encourage people to start playing class ROLES, not just class characters.

Since I'm a teeeerrrrible sniper, this is a godsend since now people actually stand still when they're stunned. :oHowever, I do agree that scouts are a more viable class and when played smart, can be devastating by helping out their team. Their uber stunning, while incredebly frustrating(yet funny), is very effective.

They're pretty self-sufficient now in my humble opinion. The force-a-nature and the sandman are a powerful combination. If you hit the person from the right distance with the baseball, you can easily kill just about any class. A heavy is now a sitting duck if he hasn't got a medic or someone else helping him out. Same thing for a pyro. The classes that always used to dominate the scout are now being made more vulnerable.

Of course, the update does foster more communication and team-organization as well. Combining the stunning effects, bullet dodging, and anti-uber effects that the scout now has, they've become a fantastically important defensive strategy as well as offensive in terms of taking out sentries and the like.

The update is very clever indeed. However, the scout's blessings are now also his weakness. There's nothing stopping one scout from stunning the other unless they've had some Bonk.

Not funny to the heavy standing next to a level 3 sentry, stunned...with 'certain medic' running away.

i don't think so. i've been stunned tons of times and then people just run away. i've saved a few people by stepping in front of the stunned person. just seems easier to me to protect them from getting an easy kill. but i rarely see anyone doing this

Well, the game is called Team Fortress 2. So I'd say you're in the right frame of mind, pal.
