New Spy Stab

i like it they should have taken out side stabs and if they didn't make them less damage. the point of a backstab is to be behind the target. so yeah it just makes you do your job. i was never good at spy but they are fun to paly. some people hate it some like it eh.

Yesterday, on the eGO Blackmesa server, I stabbed an Engineer three times in the back but he didn't die :( Received a crit wrench to my face...

This part is the most annoying of all, now the spy's know who they are going to stab, in other words they can single out targets for sacrifice stabs....

But it's also helpful, because I'm not going to sap an SG if its engineer is around the corner, but if it's just another engineer, then he won't be alerted to my sapping.

The lack of sidestabs is sad when I'm playing spy, yes, but all the other tools I've gotten (cloak recharge, no more heal-beams going to nothingness, being able to see the disposition of the other team (spies can now make awesome espionage reports cloaked on a dispenser), complete with information about WHO is coming (scoutrush? Meh. Scoutrush with actual good scouts? Pay attention!)

the speed of the backstab now is fantastic. it is an essential change in order to pull off multiple stabs in a crowd before gettin' blowed up, as well as for the stab 'n sap sentry removal technique :D i actually posted a new thread regarding the ability to pick up on cloaked opponent spies by seeing their name when disguised, because i wasn't sure if it was intentional or not (it was). mixed blessing, that one. the side stab (was it removed entirely, or just nerfed a bit?) seems to be working out for me, just wait until you get a little more back than side; no one stays perfectly flush with a wall ;)

edit: i really need to pay more attention to the tf2 updates, haha. it seems the recent one re-instated the side stab, if i'm not mistaken, so the lack of side-stabs may be a moot point now. woops.
