Crucial server change I was not aware of?

Hey guys. I've been playing on the eGO servers for about half a year now, no complaints to anything. I've stopped playing over the course of the last month because whenever I join, I get hit with about 200-250 ping!! I wuv eGO, but 200 ping makes it near impossible to play. Is there anything I can do to fix it?

*edit* Btw, this is for ANY eGO servers, not just CS:S.

I'm west coast and I get 50ping almost constantly.

what? im east coast, and i still get lag spikes, you other east coast guys hax

but really, i dont know why i still have like 120 ping, not complaining, but others severs i played on the east coast, mostly 50-75 :/

You need a new video card lol.

Also remember that if your settings are all on high, it will increase your ping and lag. Turn them down to a mix of medium/low settings to lower your ping. I get about 80 ping when I've got mine on a mix of high/medium settings. It also depends on your video card too, the better the card, the higher you can have the settings while still having a good, low ping. I'm on the west-coast too.

i've got a constant 180-200 ping, on bad days 700
but usally aabout 250 round first round until it settles at 180-190
