Hello Im a newb i know im a newb but sometimes a newbs prospective can even help a pro

So I have an idea Class guides

In Depth tips and tricks hiding places and holding points The Works!!!!

maybe even some vids of these things
Ill be working on them some soon


If this sounds like a good idea tell me if not tell me that too

How to become a better spy...I dont consider myself a great spy at all, I wouldnt say im a bad spy either...I would say Im a good spy. This is just some of the things that can be taught to someone, all else is learned by the actual player themselves. Ill begin with my 3 fav vids which I learned alot from...Now not everyone likes to learn from vids, but I do...I learned a ton of new things I never knew were possible as spy...here are the vids, many alreay have seen them and for those who havnt here u go.

People have already written countless class guides and the like, I think they may be stored in the writing section.

frisky dingo included links to what looks like the omfgninja spy guides, which are also in the thread above, and are great. i personally haven't seen many tutorials on any of the other classes, but i'm sure a search on youtube might prove worth your while. in fact, i think i'm going to do that now.
 
IMO, the best way to learn is to just play. And to find good ways to get around, hiding places, good building points I just watched other players and picked it up over time. The only class that would need to be taught to be good is spy, IMO, as it's rather complex in finding what disguises to use and when to stealth and to get patience pounded into your head.

Sniper - Aim shoot die
Spy - cloak uncloak stab run away
Engineer - click 5 then 1 then wrench away
Heavy - do nothing and die to a spy
Medic - follow spy and attack, then taunt and burn to death from a pyro
Scout - voice command x5. Repeat.
Soldier - look down shoot jump get sniped in face
demo - be overpowered
pyro- burn, baby. Burn.


That about covers it.

A bit more specifics on the spy class:
These are my own opinions and specific ways of playing that ive learned over the near 300 hrs I have as spy.

1) My first rule and one of the most important rule, is DONT BE AFRAID TO DIE only problem with this rule is once in, know when to get out. If you stab and fail DONT try and push for the stab, most likely you will die..cloak and run away and try again from a diff angle as well as a diff disguise.

2)Be patient. I dont know how many times Ive seen a heavy pass by and want to rush to kill him, instead I cloak and scan the area and I usually see a medic and a pyro following...Bad situation if I would of rushed in, but instead of 1 kill you get a possiblility of 3 kills.

3)Know the layout of the map and where all health packs as well as hiding spots are.

4)Learn to STAB THEN SAP this is the best way to kill an engi as well as his sentry.

5)Be agressive and learn the different types of stabs (180 stab, stalking stab, stair stab, leaping stab...ect.)

6) Know that you will die, but try and take as many enemies out with you.

Spy tactics cont...

7) When running away, try and cloak right before you turn a corner...once around the corner (you should already know the map and the hiding spots) dont run in a straight line or hide in a corner, those are obvious spots that they would look for you...try instead jumping on a box along the wall or as soon as you cloak and turn the corner into the room, go back out and get behind the one chasing you for an easy stab.

8) Its a common misconsception that a pyro is a spies worst enemy, but infact scouts are spies worst enemy. This is due to the fact that their shotty has a wide spread and can easily detect you, this along with thier speed and ability to kill you with just 2 shots makes them our worst enemy...this class is hard to kill and can be very annoying for us. Let them back into your knife or 180 back stab them is the easiest way to kill them imo.

Heres some good advise
Try spectating a good spy and see how he moves and how he approches his enemies and try and guess what he would do before he does it.
