Looking for some mapping help.

I have a lot of free time/boredom and I've always wanted to try making a map. Can anyone give me some idea where to start, what program is somewhat simple and easy to understand (if that exist). If it evolves typing commands and stuff then I'd rather not bother but if someone could give me a run down that would be sweet. Thanks.

First thing you need is to download Source SDK from the Tools tab in Steam. Open it up, choose your engine version and the game. After that, start up Hammer and you can start making your first map.

JUst like spidey said you want to download the SourceSDK which is in your tools tab and thats the progam you will be using once you have done that i would advise that you visit you tube. BUt if you want more help post again once you have completed teh download stage.

Didn't know one existed. We have so many boards. Then again why aren't all these story and this or that stuff moved to a more general area? Anyways thanks for the start.
