PS: i really wanna play L4D and i think i screwed up :facewall:

So you have tried looking under "NOT INSTALLED" for Left 4 Dead. Then right clicking and selecting "Install Game"?

its NOT under "not installed" it thinks the game is still there and it says "download starting" and wont budge

At the risk of being annoying. :( The best I can tell you is to right-click the game and select "Delete Local Content." Then Restart Steam(just to be safe). Now the game should appear under Not Installed. Right click again and reinstall.

Other than that. I fail. :P

when i try that it says "you do not have enough disk space to trun the game please free up some disk space" i mean wth? it ran before and i should have disk space :(

It makes the calculation including the source engine, which you already have. Its not calculating just the L4D mod to that engine. Make some space! (If you can)

What did you do to the original L4D game you had on your computer?
Did you uninstall it the normal way or move/mess with the files from your steamapps folder?
Or something completely different ? lol :confused1:

Go to my computer, right click on your C: drive, select properties then take a screenshot and post it.

Alright here is what you do.

First of all shut down steam, then follow the steps below.

Go to the following directory on your pc.

C:\Program Files\Steam\Steamapps\

in this directory there will be two or three files that are related to left 4 dead, click each one, hold down shift and hit the delete key. And accept that they while be permanently deleted.

Once this is done, go to

C:\Program Files\Steam\Steamapps\<yourloginname>\common

Delete the left 4 dead folder (hold down shift and hit delete), this should then remove left 4 dead completely.

Finally go to

C:\Program Files\Steam\

And delete the following

ClientRegistry.blob
Steam.dll

Relaunch steam, it will go through the update process, login and L4D should be under the not installed applications.

if steam will not let you after this you may have to go through your hard drive and delete files to clear room for it.

Please post back if it worked or not.
