ok so this is preventing me from specing whenver i want to
when i keep specing for a long time and go in to check i get a pop-up tat says that hl2.exe has encountered a problem and needs to close sometimes this happens when im playing to
help me plz any suggestion will be tried!!

Have you tried reinstalling? Or de-fragmenting the files. Maybe if this doesn't work, delete ClientRegistry.blob from the Steam directory, forcing Steam to update. It might fix your problem. Post back with your results.

where would i find the clientregistry.blob??

Inside the Steam Program Files folder, which by default is at C:\Program Files\Steam

try to update your videocard on www.Nvidia.com.

i have the same problem with all the sources games.

just re-install that game. If that doesn't work then just update your vga drivers.
