HELP: Computer savvy people only

The GTX series is a great solution, as it supports many new standards the old 9000 series did not support. SLI cannot fix the lack of support for new standards.

Oh yeah, I forgot the RAM :p then X58 chipset uses tripple channel ram :) (fancy for using 3 sticks of ram in a bunch then 2)

A few notes on Core i7 RAM:

The new Core i7 has the memory controller on the processor and limits RAM voltage to 1.65v, so old DDR2 typically running @ 2.1v will fry your processor if you try to run it in the new system at spec.
Look for the lowest CAS latency 1333Mhz-DDR3 you can afford, anything running over that speed will need to be over-clocked in the BIOS to run at speed, it won't plug and play. (It can be done, but it's a little tricky)
Even the 1333Mhz may initially post @ 1066Mhz depending on the JEDEC tables of your RAM.
