I was in a server today, and a =(e)= asked me to tell someone too switch a class, cause he was not doing so good in it. Now i too get a little frustrated when our team is not doing so good, and some pople can do better in a class that is full. BUT I DO NOT AND WILL NOT ask them to change a class just so someone better can get it, it is unfair to all players so please, =(e)= =(eG)= =(eGO)= or pub players please dont ask an admin to tell someone to give up a class cause you want it, its not going to happen! You would not want me to do it to you. Thank You

Ah , i should take note of that. I think it's best that we let them play for that certain class that is full that they like until they give it in themselves or either simply leave the game, then its a first-come basis. Whoever spots the empty class slot in between the games then hits the button to play for that class. I think this community is fair enough to be like that. Yes, we do get frustrated sometimes when we are at the losing end, but hey, give one a chance to play which ever class they like (:

This has been said over and over again. There are achivements to be acomplished. Regaurdless how good you are, some players want to get them. Plus you cant get better at a limited weapon if you dont use it.

Exactly, and i have even sent out warnings to players who DEMAND that another player give up a limited class. Usually if they ask nicely i'll let it go for then, but its when they become not so nice and start demanding and using those ever so lovely CAPS LOCK that i'll step in.

Like i tell people, eGO servers are public servers with players of all different skill levels on them. People will get better with different classes in time, they have to play them.

This brings back memories. It's all on the wheel.

For those who have forgotten. The only reason a player should be asked to give up their class is if they state that they are going to be afk. If they are afk they can be moved to spectator, after asking for a response, or kicked. Skill level or desire for an achievment does not enter into it.

Here's a tip. If you want a restricted class and can't get into it try random class. You play everything and eventually end up as sniper, rocket and machine gun. It also gives you a chance to see strengths and weaknesses of each class. Who knows? You may find something you like better.

This from FluffyTDestroyer:
No admin should ever harass a player for a limited weapon slot. Using the Random choice is a great way to get to the limited weapons, AND get to know the other weapons for the times when you can't get your favorite.

Servant also made a great point: CONDUMP. When you see something like this going on, make a condump of it. Forward that to the House Leader, or Division Leader. It will be easier to talk to the person if we know specifically what was going on at the time.
This is a little dated. For "House Leader, or Division Leader" I recommend sustituting "Advisor"

This from JohnT:
YOU ARE NOT REQUIRED TO SHARE ANY WEAPON.

People are trying to get achievements. They will play with sniper for a while. Let them. I am still trying to get my achievements too. And I have to wait my turn on limited class weapons just like pubs do.

Repeatedly asking for anything that is not in the effort of making the server non-disruptive (ie language, or legitimate teams requests) is considered mic spamming, which violates our rules. Anyone seeing this should report the behavior to an admin if it is disrupting the server.

As a community, we can work together to make sure that our servers are world class and are THE spot to be for gamers.

A good why to ASK for a limited weapon is to say "hey when someone gives up the sniper or mg say it" that way, your not demanding they give it up and it gives everyone a chance to snag the class. We all know how much of a race it is to get a limited class.

I just patiently wait. Also if I happen to see a Sniper/Rocket die near me, I will go and pick up his gun. I need the gun more than a dead man. Just dont go sitting near a Sniper just to get it. Please.

Also it's nice to say when you stop using a limited class.

It's generally a common courtesy to mention to your teammates that you are done with a restricted class, and that's not a big deal at all. There is no need to admin a player asking "Hey, can I have sniper when you're done?" whatsoever. Asking is fine; it's the demanding and petty fights over weapons that are the problems.

I don't particularly appreciate joining a server and being bombarded with a chorus of "KICK HIM HE'S AFK WITH SNIPER", especially when =(e)='s are a part of it. I use a very simple, albeit effective, method of solving this problem:
1.) Check where "AFK" players are. Go out and play one life. When killed, check position again. Usually, this is a minute or two.
2.) If the player is gone, don't worry about it. If they are still there, send a "Please respond, you're AFK with a restricted weapon" private message. Play another life or two, and follow up with a "Final warning, please respond immediately"-type warning. Play one or two more lives.
3.) If the player is still there afterward, move them to spectator. ONLY kick them if the server is completely full.

It's imprecise in timing, yes. But it works; usually, the entire process only takes 3-5 minutes max, and you have ample time to observe the player and for them to respond. The side benefit here is that you keep playing! Don't worry if the other players aren't happy that they don't get the rifle/rocket/MG immediately; you're doing your job properly and giving the player the benefit of the doubt. I can guarantee that they'd expect that themselves; most "AFK" players are only away for a minute or two, and it's unfair to move them for that reason; we all do it. When I get a lot of demands to kick someone, I always tell the pubbers that I'm taking care of the problem; if they carry on, I'll give them a warning about it, but they generally stop right away.

i always take the limited weapons when its open and i not ask a player to change.
and i dont ask for other players . players there not so good are allowed to play with the sniper and keep practice with that.:)

I have found countless times throughout my experience with DoD that people always tend to forget the simple rules that make this game enjoyed. by far it is a game to enjoy and i frankly have more fun playing with friends and simply running around punching people in the face while waiting to get a weapon i may truly want. some times people just need simple reminding that games are games. if you cant have fun why play them. win or lose like a good friend once told me... its more fun to lay prone on a ground at a enemy flag talking with friends then worrying about how many times that team has one. "goes out to Tech"

Good post Ra!

Nothing making me madder then when people complain about wanting a certain class cause they "pwnz0r" with it. It soon becomes spam and we all know what spammers get!
