Wierd problems after upgrading CPU

A couple weeks ago I upgraded my CPU from an AMD Athlon 64X2 4000+ to a 64X2 5200+ and my ram from 2 gigs of 667mhz to 4 gigs of 800mhz

Since then I have some very strange problems. Windows Media Center and my Zune softeware have both stopped working. Also under computer It shows 4gigz of RAM but task manager only shows 3 gigs.

These problems only started after I upgraded my PC but I have no idea how to fix them. So if anyone could help I would really appreciate it

Changing out your CPU/RAM should have had no affect on the processes. That's really weird and possibly tied to something else.

The ram problem though is you're using a 32bit OS which will only recognize 3gigs of ram, anything past that is basically not doing anything for you.

So, if you have a 64bit version of whatever OS your using, you should.

I know it doesnt make any sense, but it was right after the upgrade that these problems showed up, so I dont know what else could havr caused them or how to fix them.

yeah Im running a 32 bit OS. I thought 32 bit uses up to 4 gigs of ram. my mistake.

Zune (for me at least) had a tendency of randomly not working, could try reinstalling or updating. If that doesn't work I'm sure theres a thread on it on microsoft's zune website or google it

Its fixed. I dont know why it happened right after I upgraded my CPU but apparently it was a problem with DRM. A zune blog said to just delete the cache file and it started working again right away.

Nice, and WinXP 32-bit will boot with 4gigs of ram, use only about 2.9 and may report even less
